Non-Formal Education as a Tool for Natural Inclusion
In our projects, we create an environment where differences from mainstream society are seen as an inspiration for gaining new experiences. That’s why we actively support the involvement of people from diverse backgrounds and work together to build a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
At our projects, no one judges your appearance, no one judges your orientation or skin colour… Non-formal education is a great tool for natural inclusion! It helps prevent social exclusion among young people.
We do not turn a blind eye to social, health, economic, or cultural differences—we are aware that we are not all the same. This awareness shapes the way we communicate and adapt our activities to ensure that participants facing disadvantages can take part. We strive to break down prejudices and stereotypes by promoting personal experiences and creating a more inclusive environment.
In the Czech Republic, we are pioneers in applying an approach that uses non-formal education for the natural inclusion of youth. At each of our international camps, typically two-thirds of participants come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In the past, we have included young people with visual impairments, those struggling with mental health disorders, individuals with disabilities, socially and economically disadvantaged youth, and children from national minorities living in the Czech Republic.
