Educational Projects for Youth Workers
What is an educational project for youth workers?
It is an international Erasmus+ project focused on gaining new knowledge and discovering new methods and techniques for working with young people. Most often, these are educational seminars on various topics or networking events aimed at fostering future collaboration among participating organizations.
As with other programs, the foundation is non-formal education. Participants are expected to already have some experience in youth work and to apply the newly acquired knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes within their organization or community—or to pass them on to young people in other ways.
How do educational projects for youth workers differ from youth camps?
A training course looks very similar to a youth exchange. People from different European countries also come together at one location, and each project focuses on a specific topic. However, the content of training courses is more specialized. Individual workshops are led by experienced trainers or experts in the field. These workshops are designed to deepen participants’ knowledge of the topic, broaden their horizons, and equip them with skills and insights they can pass on to other youth workers and apply in their professional lives. A higher level of English proficiency is usually required.
After completing a training course, participants receive a certificate of completion in the form of a Youthpass.
